Terriers Captain Set to Join Huskies This Fall

CANTON, MA -- Danny Caputo, a forward for the Boston Jr. Terriers, has committed to the University of Southern Maine (USM) for the fall of 2024.

An '03 from Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Caputo played in 68 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games over the course of two seasons. In the 2022-23 season, he began with the New Jersey 87's, recording a goal and two assists in 14 games. He then moved to the Connecticut Chiefs, where he recorded a goal and six assists in 17 games. This past year, he captained the Boston Jr. Terriers, playing 37 games and recording three goals and nine assists to his credit.

"We were fortunate to have Danny as our organization's first inaugural team captain," said Jr. Terriers head coach and general manager Cody Gonyeau. "He puts his heart into the teams he is on, and I'm thrilled to see a player like him reach the college level. Coach Pinch at USM will find great value in having Danny as part of the Huskies. We wish Danny the best of luck in his collegiate hockey career!"

Caputo will join several other EHL alumni at Southern Maine, including Angel Montanez from the Bridgewater Bandits, Ryan Pappalardo from the New Hampshire Avalanche, Isaac Grondin from the Vermont Lumberjacks, and both Finn Ernsjoo and Gavin Simopoulos from the Express Hockey Club.

"I’m proud to announce my commitment to the University of Southern Maine," said Caputo. "I want to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they made for me, as well as the entire Boston Jr. Terriers organization. I’m excited for the next 4 years in 'Husky Nation'!"
