Andrew VanAntwerp Commits to Albertus Magnus

EHL Defenseman of the Year Joins Falcons

CANTON, MA -- Andrew Van Antwerp, a standout defenseman for the Boston Jr. Terriers, has committed to Albertus Magnus College for the fall of 2024.

An '03 from Petoskey, MI, VanAntwerp made a significant impact in his single season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Playing 39 games, he recorded eight goals and 21 assists, totaling 29 points, and earned the EHL Defenseman of the Year award and a was an EHL First Team All-Star.

"Andrew was a very special player for us with tremendous skills and abilities," said Terriers head coach and general manager Cody Gonyeau. "He helped us find success in many ways and was awesome to watch in a shootout. He earned Defenseman of the Year for the Eastern Hockey League this year and is very deserving of this recognition. Congratulations to him on his commitment to Albertus Magnus. They will have a great kid, a leader, and a very talented hockey player!"

VanAntwerp will be joining forces with a four other EHL alumni at Albertus Magnus, including Akezhan Melis from the Boston Jr. Rangers, Cody Walker from the Express Hockey Club, A.J. Lackas from the New England Wolves, and Mike Santonelli from the New Hampshire Avalanche.

"I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for helping me get to where I am today," said VanAntwerp. "Junior hockey has been nothing but amazing and I’m glad I ended up in Boston with the Terriers for my final year. We were such a close-knit group of guys who were willing to do anything for the brothers who sat on the bench alongside us. I will be forever grateful for what this game has done for me and continues to do."
