Jr. Warriors Goaltender to join Greyhounds in the Fall of 2026
HAVERHILL, MA – Chris Hanifan, a goaltender for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to Assumption University for the 2026-2027 season.
A goaltender out of the great hockey town of Reading, MA, Hanifan is a product of the EHL’s ladder of development. Beginning his journey in the EHLP for the 2024-25 season, he recorded a .937 before earning a full-time call up for the 2025-26 campaign. As an ‘06, he played in 29 total games for the Warriors, between regular season and playoffs.
“Chris is just another example of a MIAA player (Reading Memorial High School) who began his junior career on our EHLP team,” said Warriors Head Coach Ryan McGrath. “He grew his game, earned a promotion to our EHL team, and then committed to a great NCAA school like Assumption. He is an awesome young man and will have a great career for former VJW player, Michael Looney.”
Hanifan joins teammate and fellow pipeline player, Andrew Duval, in joining the Greyhounds for the upcoming season.
“I can’t thank the coaches at Reading Memorial High School and the Valley Jr. Warriors enough for all their hard work,” Hanifan said. “It was a great ride to start at the EHLP level, then earn a spot on EHL, and then commit to college. I am looking forward to being a Greyhound!”
