Seahawks Defenseman to join Buccaneers in the Fall of 2026
SOUTH DENNIS, MA – Alex Friedman, a defenseman for the Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Beloit College for the 2026-27 season.
Friedman, an ‘05 out of Cary, IL, played a pair of seasons for the Seahawks, both at the EHL level. He emerged into a league All Star in his age-out season, before helping the Seahawks to a championship with eight assists in nine postseason games. In total, he recorded two goals and 36 assists in 98 games.
“We are extremely proud to announce that second-year defensemen Alexander Friedman has committed to Beloit College for the 2026-27 season,” Bill Zaniboni, Seahawks Head Coach said. “Alex is a true leader by example and is one of the most humbled players I’ve coached. He is a guy that stepped up huge for us both seasons he was here. He was astronomical in quarterbacking our power play, and when we needed him to shut things down in the D-zone he was remarkable. He was a huge part of bringing the championship to the Cape this past season.”
Friedman is the first commit to Beloit from the 2026 class. He is the 13th commitment from the Seahawks from this past season, marking the 11th different program as well.
“I can’t emphasize enough how grateful I am for the people who have been by my side throughout my hockey career,” Friedman said. “I want to thank my family for always supporting me when I needed it most. They are the reason I am able to do what I love. I am incredibly thankful for Coach Z, Coach Richard, and Coach Gustin for always believing in me as a person and a player. Additionally, I want to thank Coach Jeremy and my trainer, Jordyn, for helping me develop my game during the off-seasons. Finally, I am very excited for the opportunity to be a student-athlete at Beloit College. I can’t thank Coach Buckley enough for believing in me and I can’t wait to start building something special at Beloit.:”
