Announcing the 2026-27 EHL & EHLP Schedules
HAVERHILL, MA – The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) are pleased to release the regular season schedules for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Commencing on September 24th, 2026, 12 EHL teams will be in action, including a pair of expansion franchises in the Hershey Cubs and Elite Golden Knights. The lone game in the EHLP on ‘Opening Day’ will feature the Valley Jr. Warriors making their return to the Premier division, as they travel down to Connecticut to take on the Nor’Easter. All three debuts were highlighted in our Top Matchups to Watch for the 2026-27 Season.
There are 19 EHL and 10 EHLP matchups taking place ahead of the first Showcase in October, the Ice Breaker (1st through 4th), in Walpole, MA. A good opportunity to find some footing before all squads are under the bright lights of the first event. Only the Seahawks Hockey Club, at the EHL level, will be playing their first game of the season at the opening showcase.
With a division re-alignment that features two conferences, showcase games, even ones in October, have bigger playoff implications than ever before. Be sure to get familiar with all of the dates and locations for this year’s Showcase Series events, as well as the new Conference Realignment taking shape at both levels.
As the opening showcase shifts to the rearview mirror, attention turns to the EHL College Series. Players return to action from the Ice Breaker as early as October 7th, trying to earn the opportunity to play NCAA opponents, beginning October 15th and running through the 24th.
The sprint to the December Showcase then begins. The November stretch, featuring a mini-showcase for EHL and EHLP Northeast teams, highlights teams getting comfortable in their conferences as rivalries start to deepen.
The appropriately named December Showcase, Mid-Season Snowdown, showcases our teams in ‘Mid-Season’ form. This year, this event also includes the EHLP All-Star Game on the first night of the showcase.
When the calendars turn to 2027, the marathon stretch truly begins. Schedules get tighter, points become harder to come by, and the playoff picture begins to emerge. Outside of a mini-showcase for some Mid-Atlantic EHL and all Mid-Atlantic EHLP teams, it’s all standard regular season hockey until the Broad Street Battle Showcase in March (12th through 14th).
A week of regular season hockey remains following the final showcase. Playoff seeding will be finalized, and three teams will be on the outside. Then, the ‘Road to Providence’ begins and the journey will take us back to familiar venues for the Regional Finals and Frozen Finals, as we get set to crown this season’s champions.
