Conference Alignment for the 2026-27 Season — Dates and Locations for Annual ‘Showcase Series’

HAVERHILL, MA – The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) are pleased to announce the conference alignment for both divisions this upcoming season (2026-27), as well as the dates and locations for the annual ‘Showcase Series’.

Starting in the EHL, the division names are being removed in order to establish two (2) separate conferences – Northeast Conference and Mid-Atlantic Conference. While there will be plenty of crossover action between the two conferences, especially during showcase play, the postseason will be played out within each respective conference, right down to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regional Finals. One team will emerge from each conference to advance to the EHL Frozen Finals at Providence College. More details, including playoff dates for each round, will be released later this off-season.

East Coast Wizards

Elite Golden Knights

Express Hockey Club

H.C. Rhode Island

EHL Mid-Atlantic Conference

“Both conferences have been a part of our structure for the last two seasons, but we had a pair of separate divisions under each umbrella,” said Neil Ravin, the Commissioner of the EHL and EHLP. “With just two conferences, it’s clear the path that every team is on, as they look to be one of the final two left standing of their respective conference in order to advance to the Regional Finals, and then punch their ticket to Providence with a win at Regionals.”

The same two (2) conference names hold true for the EHLP as well – Northeast Conference and Mid-Atlantic Conference.

All 28 teams, 16 in the EHL and 12 in the EHLP, will meet up for the first time, the very first weekend in October (10/1 through 10/4). Helping to kick off the new season, the annual Ice Breaker Showcase is set to take place at the Cadillac of Norwood Ice Arena in Walpole, MA. Every team will play at least three games at this opening event.

As for the next league-wide event, be sure to mark off December 15th through 17th on your calendars, as the EHL returns to the International Skating Center of Connecticut (ISCC) for the Mid-Season Snowdown. This mid-week event, will feature all 16 EHL teams, plus the EHLP All-Star Game on the opening night – Tuesday, December 15th.

Last, but not least, the final league-wide event of the year will take place once again in Philadelphia, as the Broad Street Battle returns to IceWorks Skating Complex in Aston, PA for the third consecutive season. The weekend of March 12th through 14th will feature all EHL teams in action, plus the Mid-Atlantic Conference of the EHLP.

“Our showcase series is our bread and butter,” added Ravin. “These events have helped us establish who we are over the years, as our exposure for the players is second-to-none. By strategically placing these showcases at the beginning, middle, and end of the college hockey season, we’ve been able to attract a larger audience of scouts and college hockey coaches, by catering to their schedules. We’re putting events on when scouting and recruiting is at the top of their priority list. Coupled with a pair of regional showcases this season, and we’re really excited over everything that the 2026-27 Showcase Series entails.”

As Ravin mentioned, outside of the three league-wide events on the calendar this year, their are also a pair of regional showcases, as the Northeast Conference will host a showcase for its teams on Veteran’s Day, which is also set to take place in Walpole, MA.

Then, the Mid-Atlantic Conference will follow suit on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, down at Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell, NJ.

The EHL and EHLP teams are busy preparing for this upcoming season, including scheduling all of the regular season games set to take place around the showcases. More details on the College Series, Road to Providence, and full regular season schedules will be released soon.
