Forward of the Month
Nicky Degeorge Seahawks Hockey Club
The single-season EHL points leader now has two Stars of the Month honors to his name. As he gears up his first round of postseason play, he can reflect on 25 points across the month of March. He extended his point streak to fourteen games, ten of them coming in the final month of the regular season. Degeorge was particularly fantastic at the Broad Street Battle where he combined for seven points against the New Jersey Bears and H.C Rhode Island, two 30-win teams. The Forward of the Year had a four-goal game against the Bridgewater Bandits, which also featured a pair of assists, securing the number one spot in single-season points. The pressure will be on as they face the Express Hockey Club this week.
Defenseman of the Month
John Danks New Jersey Bears
John Danks’ torrent pace to end the season helped him place third amongst defenseman in points and first in goals. Danks rode a ten game point streak into the playoffs. He stole the show at the Broad Street Battle Showcase, where he scored a pair of goals against the Seahawks Hockey Club, and added another three points against the Connecticut Nor’Easter and East Coast Wizards. He scored a shorthanded goal against the Pennsylvania Huntsmen, and then tallied another goal and assist in a huge win over the Philadelphia Hockey Club. In game one of their postseason matchup with the New Jersey 87’s, the defenseman made a goal-line saving play to help secure the 1-0 win. They’ll take on PHC in round two this week.
Goaltender of the Month
Nicholas Mele New Jersey Bears
“The Great Wall of Nicholas Mele.” What a month of March it was for the ‘05 New York native, leading the New Jersey Bears to the second round. He posted a pair of shutouts against the New Jersey 87’s, stopping 52 of 52 in the process. Mele was no slouch before that, winning his last seven of the regular season. He won three games in March, taking down two South Division rivals, as well as the East Coast Wizards at the Broad Street Battle Showcase. Mele had a .920 across those three games. He finished the regular season with fourteen wins, a .919 save percentage, and three shutouts.

Forward of the Month
Eddie Kienzle New Jersey 87’s
Eddie Kienzle might not be human, but he’s definitely the EHLP March Forward of the Month. Kienzle began the month with a light twelve-point game, featuring six goals and six assists: the single most in a game in league history. After three assists in his following two games, he picked up the goal scoring where he left off, with four straight multi goal games. To finish off the month and help secure the first-round bye for the 87’s, he recorded four assists against the Union Jr. Thunder before a dominant five goal game against the Atlantic City Seals, their next opponent. That featured a game winning goal, his fourth of the month. He finished the regular season with 70 points in 19 games.
Defenseman of the Month
Tai Jausovec Union Jr. Thunder
The Union Jr. Thunder are off and running into the second round of the EHLP playoffs. Rookie defenseman Tai Jausovec helped them to a pair of comeback wins against the Pennsylvania Huntsmen with a goal and two assists in the two-game series. The Slovenia native finished the regular season strong as well. He had a three point game to wrap up the month, coming after four assists in the four games before that. Jausovec will be returning the Thunder for next season, but they have a second round date with the New Jersey 87’s before then.
Goaltender of the Month
Kieran Humphreys Express Hockey Club
The EHLP Goaltender of the Year finished the regular season the same way he started: winning Goaltender of the Month. Kieran Humphreys led the Express Hockey Club to thirteen wins this season, four of them coming in March. He recorded a .957 across his six appearances in the final month of the regular season, defeating four different teams in the process. His best performance came in the form of a 51-save outing against the Seahawks Hockey Club, the team the Express will be playing in the second round. Humphreys finished the season with the most minutes of any goaltender in the EHLP and boasted a .928 while doing it.
