Express Goaltender to join the Hawks in the Fall of 2026
WALPOLE, MA – Lukas Toth, a goaltender for the Express Hockey Club, has committed to Saint Anselm College for the 2026-2027 season.
An ‘05 out of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, Toth is in his second year in the EHL. After a wildly impressive rookie season with a .956 save percentage, he has taken on the starting role this season, playing the most of any goaltender in the EHL. Toth also represented the Express at the EHL All Star College Series.
“Toth has been a two year guy for us at the Express,” said Nic Cota, EHC Head Coach. “His first season with us he did a great job acclimating from Canada and fit right in. In season one he had a good chunk of games winning most, while having a great relationship with goalie partner, Alex Koenig. Toth knew returning, if he worked hard in the off-season and came back ready to go, the net would be his. After some time he has proven to be one of the best, if not the best, goalie in the EHL. I am very excited and proud of his commitment to Saint Anselm‘s. Congratulations to Lukas and his family. We look forward to watching you in net at the NCAA level!”
Toth is the second EHL commitment to Saint A’s for the upcoming season. The Hawks are led by Head Coach Larry Rocha.
“I am incredibly excited and grateful to announce my commitment to Saint Anselm College to continue my academic and athletic career,” Toth said. “First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for guiding me and giving me the strength and opportunities that have brought me to this point. I am also deeply thankful to my family for their constant love and unwavering support in helping me pursue my dream of playing college hockey. I would like to thank Coach Cota for bringing me in last year and for the trust he has placed in me this season as the starting goaltender. His belief in me and the opportunity he has given me to compete and grow have meant a lot. I would also like to thank Coach Rocha for his support and belief in me throughout this process. Lastly, I want to give a heartfelt thank you to my teammates for pushing me to be better every day, and to the Hassler family, my billet family, for welcoming me into their home and treating me like one of their own. Being away from home isn’t always easy, but they’ve quickly become a second family to me, and I will always be thankful for the support, kindness, and memories we shared together. I’m truly honored to become a Hawk and excited for the opportunity to represent Saint Anselm College on the ice and in the classroom.”
