Avalanche Defenseman to join Ravens in the Fall of 2026
HOOKSETT, NH – Cooke Evans, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Franklin Pierce University for the 2026-2027 season.
The ‘05 out of Sag Harbor, NY is in his second season in the EHL. He played his first season with the Vermont Lumberjacks, where he registered seventeen points and earned a spot on the Northeast All Star team. This year, with the Avalanche, he has eclipsed that total with eighteen points in 37 games.
“Cooke has been a huge part of our D group this season,” said Chris Cerrella, Head Coach of the New Hampshire Avalanche. “He is very efficient and knows the game. He has really worked on his game defensively, and it has made him a very effective player on the back end for us. He has an opportunity to go to a place that feels he will go in and get a great opportunity as a freshman. Cooke is a great human and a competitor he is gonna be a good addition to FPU. I know he is proud to be a Raven next season and I wish him the best of luck.”
Evans will join fellow Avalanche player Colden Lawrence at FPU next season, a team with thirteen EHL alumni.
“I am very excited to announce that I will be committing to Franklin Pierce University to play hockey for Coach Conor Foley,” said Evans. “Without my parents and family, this wouldn’t be possible and I appreciate everything they’ve done for me during my hockey career. I also want to thank both Coach Cerrella and Coach Bourdon for giving me the opportunity to play for the Avalanche and achieve my goal of playing college hockey.”
