87’s Goaltender to join Oles in the Fall of 2026
WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Mitch Stenger, a goaltender for the New Jersey 87’s, has committed to St. Olaf College for the 2026-2027 season.
Stenger, an ‘05 out of Wilton, CT, is a two-year product of the 87’s organization in the EHL. He represented the 87’s at the EHL All Star College Series for the Mid-Atlantic Team, taking on Stevenson University and Lebanon Valley College. He has an 11-7-0-1 record with three shutouts on the year.
“We are very proud of Mitch for his commitment to St. Olaf College,” 87’s Head Coach Matt Kiernan said. “He has been an integral member to the NJ 87’s organization both on and off the ice and he will be a great addition to the St. Olaf community.”
St. Olaf competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and are coached by Tyler Lindstrom.
“I’m proud and grateful to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at St.Olaf College,” Stenger said. “I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, coaches, mentors, and advisor. I would also like to thank the 87’s organization who have supported me every step of the way. I am beyond excited to start my career at St. Olaf.”
