Wizards Defenseman to join Leopards in the Fall of 2026
BEDFORD, MA – From the East Coast Wizards, ’07 defenseman Jack Copponi has committed to continue his hockey career at Wentworth Institute of Technology for the 2026 season.
Copponi recorded 22 points this season, tallying 3 goals and 19 assists from the blue line. In his first year in the league, he quickly established himself as a reliable presence on the backend, consistently turning transition plays into offensive opportunities. His 19 assists highlight both his vision and ability to contribute to the attack as a defenseman.
Head Coach Falite spoke about Copponi’s impact and his confidence in his success at the next level. “We are so thrilled for Jack and his commitment to Wentworth. He has been a big piece to our backend this season, and we’re so excited for him to further his education and career at Wentworth. Coach Pecora is gaining a great hockey player and person, we can’t wait to see his success continue at the next level.”
Copponi shared his appreciation for those who helped him reach this milestone and his excitement for the opportunity ahead. “I am very excited to announce that I will be furthering my education and hockey career at Wentworth University. I would like to thank my parents for guiding me through every step of the way. Also Huge thank you to all of my coaches, family and friends who have also helped me through my hockey career.
