HAVERHILL, MA — The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Week 20 Stars of the Week, running February 17th through February 23rd.

Northeast Conference
Danny Storella (F) New Hampshire Avalanche
Leading the league in points in the last week of action was New Hampshire Avalanche forward and Albertus Magnus College commit Danny Storella. He kicked off the week with a pair of goals against the Bridgewater Bandits, including the game winner, where he also added an assist. In their win over the Valley Jr. Warriors, he tallied a goal and four assists. He now has clinched the 50-point mark for the second consecutive season.
Patrick Cooley (F) New Hampshire Avalanche
Patrick Cooley’s big week propelled him to over the point per game in just his rookie season. After a two-assist game against the Bridgewater Bandits, Cooley took over in the Avalanche’s win over the Valley Jr. Warriors. He recorded a hat trick, which featured both the game winner and a shorthanded goal, and added a pair of assists too. Cooley and the Avs will keep their attention on Valley when they square off again this Thursday.
Danny Kehoe (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
This past week, the Seahawks Hockey Club won their third straight game, with a narrow win over H.C Rhode Island. Veteran forward Danny Kehoe made his presence felt by assisting the game winner on the power play, and adding a crucial insurance goal with under two minutes remaining. The ‘05 out of Florida has been on a tear in the New Year, and will hope to keep things rolling against the Bridgewater Bandits on Tuesday.

Francesco Donohue (F) New Jersey Bears
The New Jersey Bears split a pair of games against the New Jersey 87’s this past week, and ‘06 NJ local Francesco Donohue impressed. In the opening game, Donohue assisted the Bears’ lone goal in a 4-1 loss. However, he took center stage on Friday when he posted a hat trick, a game winning goal, and an assist in a 5-1 victory. Donohue has now passed the twenty goal plateau in his first season. The Bears will have a pair of games against the Pennsylvania Huntsmen this week.
Lorenzo Rossi (G) Philadelphia Hockey Club
In a busy week, Philadelphia Hockey Club completed the trifecta, taking down the Philadelphia Little Flyers in three straight meetings. Rossi appeared in two of them, combining for 39 saves on 42 shots. The Arcadia commit now has a .925 on the season, as PHC sets their sight on a big pair of games against the New Jersey 87’s this weekend.
AJ Frankaitis (G) New York Apple Core
For the second straight week, Long Island’s own AJ Frankaitis earned Mid-Atlantic Star of the Week honors. The New York Apple Core took down the Connecticut Nor’Easter in a pair of games. In a 5-1 win in Brewster, Frankaitis shut down 28 of 29. The second game, which headed to overtime, saw Frankaitis turn aside all but one yet again, for a total of 57 saves across the pair of games. The Apple Core have won three straight heading into a pair of games this week against H.C Rhode Island.

Northeast Conference
Oryyn Freedman (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
Orynn Freedman and the Seahawks Hockey Club have won eleven of their last twelve, including a 5-2 victory over the Providence Capitals. It’s the third meeting with that final score between the two teams, and Orynn Freedman has factored in every matchup within the season series. This time, he added a goal and two assists, including one which set up the game winner. With an impressive season thus far behind him, Freedman was recently named to the EHLP All Star Game.
Ryan Littlefield (G) Providence Capitals
In their last two wins, Ryan Littlefield has been the difference maker. Both games went the distance, ending in shootout fashion. The most recent one, a 2-1 victory of the Express Hockey Club, featured 43 saves for the ‘06 between regulation and overtime. He then stopped an additional four in the shootout to deliver the extra point for the Caps. They’ll square off against the New Hampshire Avalanche this week.
Zen Janik (G) Seahawks Hockey Club
All Star goaltender Zen Janik is on a personal four game win streak, with the most recent coming this week. In a win over the Providence Capitals, he stopped 34 of 36 for a .944 save percentage. He is tied for the lead in wins amongst Seahawks goaltenders with seven. They’ll be on the hunt for some revenge against the New Hampshire Avalanche this Thursday.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Eddie Kienzle (F) New Jersey 87’s
Eddie Kienzle continues his tear through the EHLP with his second hat trick performance. In a 5-3 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen, the NY native potted a trio of goals, including the game winner. He also added an assist for, bumping his total to 28 points in nine games. They’ll host the New Jersey Bears this Friday.
Rick Sandman (F) Atlantic City Seals
Rounding out the EHLP Stars of the Week are a pair of Atlantic City Seals. Rick Sandman, an ‘07 out of NJ, delivered in a big way in the Seals’ 5-3 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. With two goals and two assists, he factored in on nearly every goal. He now sits at ninth in the league in points with 43.
Paul Elco (D) Atlantic City Seals
Joining Sandman is ‘08 defenseman Paul Elco. In their 5-3 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen, he registered a pair of assists from the back end. It’s his first multi-point game of the season. He and the Seals will host the Philadelphia Little Flyers this Friday.
