HAVERHILL, MA — The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Week 17 Stars of the Week, running January 27th through February 2nd.

Northeast Conference
Ville Bodin (F) Express Hockey Club
The Express Hockey Club posted a perfect 4-0 week headlined by a four-point-per game pace from Ville Bodin. The Curry commit and all-time leading scorer for the Express Hockey Club kicked off the week with a hat trick against Hockey Club Rhode Island. In their 8-7 overtime win over the Valley Jr. Warriors, he tallied six points: two goals and four assists, including the primary on the game winner. Bodin’s eight goals and eight assists have now propelled him past the 40-goal mark on the season.
Nate Brissette (F) Express Hockey Club
In a high octane offensive week for the Express, ‘06 forward Nate Brissette, the Backstrom to Bodin’s Ovechkin, put together a sensational week himself. He registered three assists in their win over H.C Rhode Island, and put up a two-goal performance, which included the overtime winner, against the Valley Jr. Warriors. He ended the month two a point game against the Bridgewater Bandits, where he reached the 50 points on the season.
Mark Trischler (D) Express Hockey Club
It’s a clean sweep for the Express as their top scoring defender Mark Trischler The ‘05 has been a big piece of the Express’ deadly power play, tallying six points on the man advantage and another three at even strength. Finishing the week with a three point game against the Bridgewater Bandits, which featured a goal, he now has eight points against them on the year. He will look to expand on those numbers this Tuesday, when the Express face the Bandits again.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Dylan Newton (G) Connecticut Nor’Easter
The Connecticut Nor’Easter have found their groove since the Mid-Season Snowdown, and with four wins in his last five, goaltender Dylan Newton has been at the center of it. Newton, an ‘06, led the Nor’Easter in a statement week, taking down two divisional rivals. He first turned aside 44 shots from Hockey Club Rhode Island, the number one team in the Central Division. Newton then shutout the Providence Capitals, stopping another 44 shots. They will host the Seahawks Hockey Club this Wednesday.
Conner Nicolson (G) Providence Capitals
In a much needed win against Hockey Club Rhode Island, Providence Capitals goaltender Conner Nicolson was phenomenal. He stopped an impressive 47 of 48, exorcising Providence’s demons against the top team in their division. In a losing effort against the Connecticut Nor’Easter, he stopped another 42. Enduring one of the hardest workloads in the EHL, Nicolson has posted a .915 thus far as they gear up to take on the East Coast Wizards
Ivan Kulagin (F) New Jersey 87’s
The 87’s had a crucial pair of home games against the Philadelphia Hockey Club, who is hot in their tail in the South Division standings. Fortunately for them, they got two clutch performances from ‘05 forward Chase Chalfin. He assisted the game tying goal and scored the game winning goal in their 5-3 win and assisted the overtime winner in their 2-1 win. They have a one point lead on PHC, who have games in hand. They take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers next.

Northeast Conference
Orynn Freedman (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
Fresh off a 3-0 week, the EHLP is pleased to announce that Seahawks Hockey Club forward Orynn Freedman as a Northeast Conference Star of the Week. WIth three goals and seven assists, the ‘06 posted a pair of four point games. He assisted the game winner in all three of their wins, and scored a hat trick in their 4-1 win over the Providence Capitals. Freedman now sits at third in the league with 49 points.
Austin Bonebright (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
Seahawks Hockey Club captain Austin Bonebright kicked off the week with a whopping four goal effort against the Providence Capitals, which included the game winner. He then assisted the opening goal in their 4-1 win over the Capitals before scoring another game winner, this time against the Express Hockey Club. Captain BoneBruise and the Seahawks will take on the Connecticut Nor’Easter this Wednesday.
Colton Alles (G) Express Hockey Club
In an up and down week for the Express Hockey Club, they found consistency in net with goaltender Colton Alles. His shutout effort against the Connecticut Nor’Easter secured the Express the 2-0 victory, which was his fifth against them. He suited up for their rivalry game against the Seahawks Hockey Club where, despite a loss, he still made 47 saves. They’ll have another crack at the Seahawks on Saturday.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Eddie Kienzle (F) New Jersey 87’s
In six games with the New Jersey 87’s this season, Eddie Kienzle has put up a stunning 20 points. This past week, he added nine points in just two games. In their win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Kienzle posted a hat trick, which included the game winner, and a pair of assists. He followed that up with four points in another win, this time against the Union Jr. Thunder, which featured a shorthanded goal. A rematch with Union awaits the 87’s on Saturday.
Jason Raeburn (F) Pennsylvania Huntsmen
The Pennsylvania Huntsmen enjoyed a statement, come-from-behind win against the New Jersey Bears this past week. Led by ‘08 forward Jason Raeburn, he scored the opening goal of the game followed by a pair of late goals in the third to tie things up. The Huntsmen would go on to win in a shootout. They will host the Philadelphia Little Flyers next.
Tomass Vekselis (F) New Jersey 87’s
The New Jersey 87’s top scorer, Tomass Vekselis, added another five points to his impressive resume this season. He first scored a goal and added an assist on the power play game winner against the Philadelphia Little Flyers, before tallying a trio of assists against the Union Jr. Thunder. Vekselis, an ‘08 out of Latvia, now has 24 points on the year.
