87’s Forward to join Cougars in the Fall of 2026
WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Chris Erasmus, a forward for the New Jersey 87’s, has committed to Misericordia University for the 2026-2027 season.
An ‘05 out of Unionville, CT, Erasmus has been a member of the 87’s for three seasons. A product of the EHL’s pipeline of development, Erasmus played two full seasons in the EHLP, leading his team to a championship with thirteen postseason goals. Now a full timer at the EHL level, Erasmus has fifteen points in 25 games.
“The 87’s organization is very proud of Chris as he reached the goal that he set 3 seasons ago when he joined us,” said 87’s Head Coach Matt Kiernan. “We wish Chris continued success at the NCAA level.”
Erasmus is the first 87 to join the ranks at Misericordia, a roster that boasts a double digit number of EHL alumni. They are led by Head Coach Kevin Cole.
“I am proud and thankful to say that I am going to continue playing hockey at the NCAA Division III level at Misericordia University,” said Erasmus. “I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, teammates and coaches. #87way.”
