HAVERHILL, MA — The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Week 16 Stars of the Week, running January 21st through January 26th.
EHL
Northeast Conference
Pierson Haislet (G) East Coast Wizards
After dropping their first game of the week, the East Coast Wizards needed to bounce back in a pair of games against the New Hampshire Avalanche. Behind two stellar performances from ‘05 netminder Pierson Haislet, they secured four points. Haislet turned aside 36 and 44 saves between the two respective games for a .964 save percentage against the top team in the Northeast. The Wizards will look for some revenge against the Seahawks Hockey Club this week.
Sonny Christian (F) Valley Jr. Warriors
With four straight losses behind them, the Valley Jr. Warriors were in need of a big win and got one thanks to ‘06 Sonny Christian. The Massachusetts native put up a monster game against the East Coast Wizards, tallying four assists in a 5-2 win. He assisted the game winner as well, securing the Warriors their first win over the second-in-the-North Wizards this season. They’ll host the New Hampshire Avalanche next.
Adam Ellegood (F) East Coast Wizards
The fastest legs in the league led the way on the scoresheet for the East Coast Wizards in a 2-1 week. Adam Ellegood, a Northeast All Star, had four points in three games. After starting with an assist against the Valley Jr. Warriors, he then scored the game winner in their 2-1 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche. 24 hours later, he posted a goal and an assist leading to their overtime win against the same squad. Ellegood now has 21 points on the year.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Chase Krtanjek (F) Philadelphia Little Flyers
The Philadelphia Little Flyers had a pair of games against Central Division squads and came away with four points. ‘05 New York native Chase Krtanjek scored the game tying goal in their 2-1 win over the New York Apple Core. He followed that up with a three point performance against the Connecticut Nor’Easter, factoring in on every goal including the game opening goal and the game winning assist. Braedon Gallante (F) New York Apple Core
Braedon Gallante, now producing at two points per game, continues to be one of the most dominant players in the EHL. Coming off a six point week, he posted two goals and three assists in their 7-4 comeback win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen, in which he scored two game-tying goals. He then assisted NYA’s lone goal in their loss to the Philadelphia Little Flyers. They have a pair of games with the New Jersey Bears next.
Chase Chalfin (F) New Jersey 87’s
The 87’s had a crucial pair of home games against the Philadelphia Hockey Club, who is hot in their tail in the South Division standings. Fortunately for them, they got two clutch performances from ‘05 forward Chase Chalfin. He assisted the game tying goal and scored the game winning goal in their 5-3 win and assisted the overtime winner in their 2-1 win. They have a one point lead on PHC, who have games in hand. They take on the Philadelphia Little Flyers next.

Cameron Morin (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
After losing their last four to the New Hampshire Avalanche, the Seahawks Hockey Club had a statement day: defeating them twice in their own barn. Camron Morin, an ‘07 out of Scarborough, ME, collected four points across the two games. He posted two assists in the first game and added his first goal of the two-game set in the second. Morin and the Seahawks will take on the Providence Capitals next.
Ian Laib (F) Seahawks Hockey Club
One of the best playmakers in the EHLP had a big week as Ian Laib, a veteran forward for the Seahawks Hockey Club, came up big in their doubleheader against the New Hampshire Avalanche. He collected a trio of assists and scored a crucial insurance marker to secure the 5-3 victory in game two. Laib is now second amongst all forwards in the EHLP in assists with 34.
Mason Campbell (G) Connecticut Nor’ Easter
Mason Campbell’s first win of the season came in 55-save fashion as the Connecticut Nor’Easter defeated the Providence Capitals. It was the Nor’Easter’s first win against the Capitals this season, and involved Campbell and crew killing off three Providence power plays. He has now faced forty or more shots in five of his last six starts. “Soup,” as Campbell is nicknamed, and the Nor’Easter will pay a visit to the Express Hockey Club this Wednesday.
