BOSTON, MA — The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) are proud to honor the top performers for December 2025.

EHL

Forward of the Month

Ville Bodin Express Hockey Club

The Express Hockey Club have found their rhythm as we leave 2025 behind, winning eleven of their last twelve and going 7-0-1 in the month of December. In each of those games, Swedish sensation, two time all-star, and Curry College commit Ville Bodin found the back of the net.  Bodin registered eleven goals and six assists in the eight games, scoring a pair of goals in three of the games, and scoring the game winner in another three. He leads the league in goals with a whopping 29, and is responsible for one-third of the Express’ scoring, placing him at the center of the league’s MVP race heading into the New Year.

Defenseman of the Month

Johnny Blase Connecticut Nor’Easter

The Connecticut Nor’Easter head into 2026 on a three game win streak after starting December 2-3. With his fingerprints all over their most successful month of the season thus far, was defenseman Johnny Blase. In the eight games, the ‘06 tallied four goals and three assists. His three point game against the New York Apple Core, where he scored the game winning goal, was crucial in the Nor’Easter maintaining the third place spot in the Central Division heading into the New Year. His other two goals were against the top two teams in their division, and featured another game winner. The Providence Capitals await Blase and the Nor’Easter for their first game back.

Goaltender of the Month

Lukas Toth Express Hockey Club

After a slow start, the Express Hockey Club have established themselves as a top team in the Eastern Hockey League and a big reason why has been goaltender Lukas Toth. After dropping four of his first seven, the ‘05 British Columbia native has now won nine of his last ten with a 5-0-1 December. With the second most minutes of any goaltender this past month, Toth recorded a .933, stopping 30 or more saves in three of them. Two of those wins were against divisional rival Seahawks Hockey Club, where he combined for 66 saves. The Express will kick off the New Year against the Bridgewater Bandits.

EHL Premier

Forward of the Month

Dominic Moushon New Jersey Bears

A remarkable 8-0 run has placed the New Jersey Bears in the first place spot in the Mid-Atlantic Conference, and the heartbeat of their offense has been ‘08 forward Dominic Moushon. Currently on a twenty-game point streak, Moushon sits atop the EHLP in points. In five games in December, he tallied five goals and eight assists. He kicked off the month with a hat trick against the Union Jr. Thunder which featured a shorthanded goal and the overtime winner. He finished the month with three consecutive multi-point games. As the MVP race continues into 2026, Moushon has certainly put his name in the hat.

Defenseman of the Month

Zachary Cheung New Jersey Bears

It’s a pair of ‘08s winning Star of the Month honors for the New Jersey Bears with blue-liner Zachary Cheung boasting a breakout month in December. Cheung recorded at least a point in four of the five games. He scored three goals, all on the man-advantage, leading the Bears power play to the top of the league. The New Jersey native also added two assists, including one on an overtime winner. The Bears will have the chance to extend their win streak into 2026 when they open up against the Atlantic City Seals.

Goaltender of the Month

Owen Holland New Hampshire Avalanche

Sitting at the peak of all of the EHLP are the New Hampshire Avalanche. Winning twelve of their last thirteen, goaltender Owen Holland has been responsible for four of those wins. In the month of December, the Reading native appeared in a pair of games, winning both of them. Holland defeated the Express, stopping 30 of 31 in the process. He topped that when he shut down 42 of 43 from the New England Wolves. He currently has a .922 in nine total games. The Avalanche will host the Seahawks Hockey Club on January 11th.
