Avalanche Defenseman to join Eagles in the Fall of 2026
HOOKSETT, NH – Alex Valentini, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Post University for the 2026-27 season.
Valentini, an ‘05 out of Rochester, NY, boasts a juniors career that spans across five seasons in the EHL and EHLP. An example of the league’s pipeline of development, the blue-liner spent two full seasons in the EHLP before his EHL call-up in 2024-2025. He is currently enjoying his best year of production with 12 points in 22 games.
“Val played last season with another junior program, but since college hockey was his ultimate goal, he made the change to come to us in the offseason and it paid off for him,” Avalanche Head Coach Chris Cerrella said. He has been a great addition to our hockey community here in Hooksett, and I am very happy for him on his NCAA commitment. Head Coach Tim Richter at Post played junior hockey for me years ago and I am glad he will be coaching Alex next season. Val is going to be an amazing addition to the Post academic and athletic family. I am very proud.”
Post’s roster includes double digit EHL alumni, including AJ Guzzardi from last year’s class of New Hampshire Avalanche.
“I am super grateful and excited to continue my academic and athletic career at Post University,” said Valentini. “I’d like to thank my coaches all the way to this point, especially Coach Cerrella for giving me this opportunity in my last year and setting me up to go to school. I’d like to thank Coach Richter of Post University for giving me the opportunity to play at the collegiate level and of course, I need to thank my family for pushing me and always making the sacrifices to set me up for success.”
