HAVERHILL, MA — The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Week 12 Stars of the Week, running December 9th through December 15th.

Northeast Conference
Ville Bodin (F) Express Hockey Club
A busy week for the Express meant plenty more goals for the league’s top scorer Ville Bodin. The recent Curry College commit collected 10 points across four wins for the Express in just five days. His best performance came against the East Coast Wizards, where he factored in on all four goals. With a total of six goals and four assists, Bodin has reached the 25-goal mark in just nineteen games. Two in the last week served as game winners, bringing that season total to seven for the native of Sweden.
Nate Brissette (F) Express Hockey Club
The other half of the Express’ deadly duo, Nate Brissette, also dominated this past week. He kicked off their busy slate with a pair of goals against the East Coast Wizards and just wrapped up the week with a pair of assists against the Valley Jr. Warriors. In total, the ‘06 registered three goals and six assists across the four victories, including a game winning goal and assists on two game winners. He now has 29 points on the year.
Lukas Toth (G) Express Hockey Club
It’s a clean sweep for the Express for Stars of the Week thanks to the red-hot Lukas Toth. Earning three of the Express’ four wins this week, Toth has now strung together eight straight wins in this nine-game Express win streak. He turned aside 84 pucks this past week for an average save percentage of .923 across nearly 180 minutes of hockey. Toth and the Express will have their hands full with a Mid-Season Snowdown that features two rematches from the EHL Crossover Series.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Gage Winter (F) New York Apple Core
The New York Apple Core have continued their upward trajectory as of late with Gage Winter continuing to be a centerpiece. Across two wins, the New Hampshire native tallied nine points, with seven of them coming in a thrashing of the Connecticut RoughRiders. He followed that up with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over the Connecticut Nor’Easter. The Core will begin their showcase slate against the Valley Jr. Warriors.
Ruslan Weaver (D) HC Rhode Island
The good times keep rolling for Hockey Club Rhode Island, whose win streak has now reached fifteen. Veteran defenseman Ruslan Weaver put up four points across a pair of wins. He first scored a game-tying power play goal to help kick off HRI’s comeback win against the Connecticut RoughRiders. He then factored in on all three goals against the Connecticut Nor’Easter, scoring the game winner and assisting a pair in a 3-2 win. Weaver and the Rhode Island squad will take on the New Hampshire Avalanche in their first Mid-Season Snowdown game.
Luc Beauparlant (G) Philadelphia Hockey Club
The spotlight was on Luc Beauparlant during the Game of the Week featuring the Philadelphia Hockey Club and the New Jersey 87’s. The ‘06 rose to the occasion, backstopping Philadelphia to a comeback win which featured two late 87’s power plays. Beauparlant stopped 41 shots in the process. Undefeated thus far, Beauparlant now boasts both PHC wins of their top rival. Their showcase slate will kick off with the East Coast Wizards.

Sam Pies (F) New Hampshire Avalanche
Sam Pies has had a strong season for the New Hampshire Avalanche, recording five points over his last three games. The New York native capped off the stretch with a two-goal performance against the Express Hockey Club on Saturday. Now up to 22 points on the season with seven goals and 15 assists, Pies remains a key offensive presence for the Avalanche as they host the Seahawks Hockey Club on January 11.
Domino Costa (F) Providence Capitals
Another big week for Domino Costa earns him his second Star of the Week this season. The forward recorded a goal and an assist in the Capitals’ 4-1 win over the Nor’Easter on Friday. He followed that up with a two goal, one assist performance on Monday against the Nor’Easter. Costa now has 28 points on the season with 12 goals and 16 assists, continuing to play a big role in Providence’s offense.
Trey Cantu (G) Providence Capitals
Trey Cantu delivered a strong performance in net for the Providence Capitals, turning away 43 shots in a full 60-minute effort during their 4-1 over the Connecticut Nor’Easter. The Ohio native faced heavy pressure and remained steady between the pipes to secure the win. The Capitals will look to continue their momentum when they rematch against the Nor’Easter today.
Mid-Atlantic Conference
Karsten Blum (F) Pennsylvania Huntsmen
A huge overtime effort from Karsten Blum helped the Pennsylvania Huntsmen in their 7-6 win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers on Saturday. The forward scored four goals, including two on the power play, before burying the game winning goal in overtime to seal the win. Blum now has 17 points on the season with five goals and 12 assists and continues to be a key part of the Huntsmen’s offense. The Huntsmen will be back in action on Saturday when they faceoff against the New Jersey Bears.
Jett Weatherred (F) New Jersey Bears
Jett Weatherred has been a strong offensive presence for the New Jersey Bears with a standout performance in their 6-3 win over the New Jersey 87’s on Saturday. The forward, now a two-time Star of the Week this season, scored two goals just five minutes apart, and also added an assist. Weatherred now has 21 points on the year with nine goals and 12 assists as the Bears prepare to face the Huntsmen this Saturday.
Anthony Farrell (F) Atlantic City Seals
The Atlantic City Seals had a big 5-2 win over the Union Jr. Thunder on Saturday, and Anthony Farrell played a key role on the Seals’ offense. The ‘05 forward recorded two goals and an assist in the win. Farrell has totaled six goals and two assists on the season so far as him and the Seals will look to keep things rolling when they take on the New Jersey 87’s this Saturday.
