Mid-Atlantic All-Stars to face Lebanon Valley and Stevenson this weekend

ANNVILLE, PA — It’s back to school for the Eastern Hockey League as the 2025 College Series kicks off this week. Three separate teams consisting of EHL All-Stars will compete against six NCAA programs from October 18-25.

Last season, the EHL excelled in the College Series with all three teams earning a win and combining for a 3-2-1 record.

The Main team will include players from across the EHL and will take on Albertus Magnus and Manhattanville. The Mid-Atlantic team will consist of players from the Central and South Divisions and will go up against Lebanon Valley College and Stevenson University. The Northeast team, made up of players from the North and East Divisions, will play Roger Williams and Nichols.

Mid-Atlantic Team to Go First

To get the College Series started, the Mid-Atlantic team will play Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, followed by their matchup against Stevenson on Sunday.

The team will be led by Philadelphia Hockey Club coach Adam Bartholomay, New York Apple Core coach Josh Fusco and Pennsylvania Huntsmen coach Zac Desjardins.

Previous Matchups

Last year, the Mid Atlantic team split their two games with a loss to Johnson and Wales and a 5-3 win over Post University.

Their opponents this weekend will be familiar programs, as the Mid-Atlantic All-Stars have played Lebanon Valley College and Stevenson multiple times, and the All-Stars faced both of these schools back in 2023.

Players to Watch

Starting in goal, the Mid-Atlantic team will have a solid trio in net. Mitch Stenger of the New Jersey 87’s highlights the pack with a perfect 5-0-0 record, a 1.07 goals against average and a .962 save percentage with two shutouts to show for it. Lorenzo Rossi, from Philadelphia Hockey Club, has a 1-1-0 record and a .917 save percentage. In his most recent start at the Ice Breaker Showcase, Rossi made 34 saves on 37 shots against a high-octane offense from the New Hampshire Avalanche. From the Central Division, Dylan Newton has a 3-2-0 record with the Connecticut Nor’Easter while boasting a .921 save percentage. He won his last two starts, including a 40-save performance in a win over the Valley Jr. Warriors.

On defense, the Mid-Atlantic All Stars will have plenty of firepower and defensive stability from the back end. 87’s blue liner Jack Napieralski leads the league among defensemen with 14 points (2g, 12a). New Jersey Bears’ defender Nicholas Malli has nine points in 10 games, including five points on the power play (2g, 3a).

The blue line will also feature Will Saunders from the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. Saunders has two assists so far this season, and he’ll provide a veteran presence as he is currently in his third EHL season.

Speaking of veteran presence, Philadelphia Hockey Club will have several returning forwards representing the Mid-Atlantic team. Jaydon Jones, Denis Maliew and David Cook will be playing this weekend and they are the top three scorers for Philadelphia. Maliew leads the trio with 10 points (5g, 5a) while Jones and Cook have five points each.

The Providence Capitals will also be supplying their share of firepower in Maddox Watson and Luke Haynes, who are both second-year players in the EHL. Watson has four goals and five points in three games this season, while Haynes is off to a hot start with eight points (5g, 3a) in seven games.
