Coach returns for his seventh season in the EHL
BREWSTER, NY — The New York Apple Core of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) are proud to announce the appointment of Josh Fusco as the team’s new Head Coach. Fusco brings a plethora of experience, including a background within the EHL, junior hockey, and the NCAA level.
A native of Unadilla, NY, Fusco’s career encompasses stops at the AAA level and junior hockey, before finishing up with a career at NCAA III Finlandia University.
Apple Core owner Steve Santini expressed his excitement for Fusco’s tenure to begin.
“When our head coaching position became open, and I knew Josh was available it was really a no-brainer for us. I knew Josh from his time in the EHL with Maryland and always found him to be very professional and admired how well coached his teams were. I am looking forward to the season under his leadership.”
Fusco’s coaching career includes six seasons spent in the EHL, where he oversaw the advancement of nearly 50 players to the NCAA level. With over a decade of coaching at multiple levels of junior hockey, Fusco brings a wealth of knowledge, and boasts a proven track record of the league’s mission: advancing players to the college level. His experience in the collegiate scene only enhances that.
“It’s very exciting to be joining this historic franchise and be a part of its rich history that Apple Core holds,” Fusco said. “There’s a standard here and wearing the Apple Core logo with pride is something to be proud of. I can’t wait to get going and I can’t thank Mr. Santini enough for his trust in me and bringing me on board.”
The Apple Core look forward to its first season under the tenure of Fusco. They kick off the season with an opening day matchup against the New Jersey 87’s.
