87’s Championship Goal Scorer to Join Knights in Fall

WALL, NJ – Nate McFarlane, a forward for the New Jersey 87’s (NJS), has committed to Arcadia University for the 2025-26 season.

McFarlane, an 04’ out of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, chose the EHL for his age-out season of junior hockey. Playing in 29 total games this season, McFarlane tallied seven goals and eight assists. He was instrumental in the 87’s championship run, scoring the game winning goal to secure the win in game three of the Finals.

“Nate was a phenomenal addition to our team and exactly what we needed as we geared up for the playoffs,” said New Jersey 87’s Head Coach Adam Houli. “He is an unbelievable human on and off the ice, and has great poise and ability to make plays, especially in a timely sense. We saw that in our golden goal, winning the EHL championship. He is going to be a great college hockey player and I’m so happy he was able to find a great home. I look forward to watching his progress over the next four years.”

McFarlane joins a number of other EHL All-Stars that are heading to Arcadia, including Grant Burback (NHA), and Chris and Mike Benkovitz (NJB).

“My time with the New Jersey 87’s is something I’ll always be proud of”, McFarlane said. “Coach Houli built more than just a team—he built a family. Every player, every role, every moment mattered. The culture he created brought us closer than ever, and it showed. We won a championship and I was also able to be showcased in the best light possible in front of college coaches. I’ll always be grateful for that.”
