Wizards Defenseman to Join Raiders in Fall
Bedford, MA – Wes Haynes, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Rivier University for the Fall of 2025.
An 04’ out of Boylston, MA, Haynes came to the Wizards early in the season with only one year of juniors eligibility. In 30 games, he collected four assists. After finishing their season second in the East Division, the Wizards wrapped up their season with a three game series against the Seahawks.
“We are really excited for Wes and his commitment to Rivier for this Fall,” Wizards Head Coach Kory Falite said. “He came in and was a big piece defensively for our back end. He makes all the right decisions both on and off the ice, and was a quiet leader on our team this year full of returners. We have no doubt that he’ll succeed at the next level!”
The Raiders’ roster boasts plenty of EHL talent, and Haynes will be joined by fellow East Division rivals Hudson Perry (EHC) and Aaron Sawicki (SHC) from this year’s class. Rivier competes in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC).
“I am extremely excited to continue my athletic and academic career at Rivier University,” Haynes said. “I want to thank my family for all the sacrifices they have made and the support they have provided throughout my life. I would also like to thank all of my previous coaches as well as the Wizards organization, including Kory Falite, Joe Ripa, Eddie Pavlini, and Adrien Peacock. Finally, I want to thank Coach Millerick for giving me the opportunity to play college hockey at Rivier. I can’t wait to get started. Go Raiders!”
