RoughRiders Defenseman to Join Cardinals in Fall
Norwalk, CT – Ryan Garvey, a defenseman for the Connecticut RoughRiders (CTR), has committed to Wesleyan University for the Fall of 2025.
The 05’ native of Rye, New York is in his first season with the RoughRiders. He has played in all 47 games this season, registering one goal and three assists. His first goal came in a 5-3 win over the first place in the South Division, New Jersey Bears.
“Ryan is an active and engaged defender who holds close to his spot and positioning to lead him to make plays on the puck,” RoughRiders Head Coach Eric Lind said. “He never falters when he gets a chance to make a play, while sending out a solid pass. You can trust him fully when he gets the puck on his stick, not only to control possession, but also to find his teammates.”
Wesleyan competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) under Head Coach Chris Potter.
“Playing for the Connecticut Roughriders has given me the opportunity to dedicate myself exclusively to hockey, with guidance from Coaches Lind and Brown,” Garvey said. “This has allowed me to elevate my skills to a higher level. I am excited to play hockey at the collegiate level, and I look forward to the opportunities that this sport presents.”
