SIMSBURY, CT -- Daniel Smith, a defenseman for the Connecticut Nighthawks, has committed to Elmira College for the Fall of 2017. In his 1st season with the Nighthawks, the '97 from New Hampshire tallied 8 points in 42 total games.

“Dan is a very solid defenseman that will have a good career at Elmira, we wish him all the best," said Nighthawks head coach Jeff Tory.

After sending seven players to college over the course of the 2015-16 season, the Nighthawks have already matched that total so far this year.
