Rangers Defenseman Joining Teammate this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Zach Ciampa, a defenseman for the Boston Jr. Rangers, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University for the Fall of 2017. This season was Ciampa's first with the Rangers' Premier Team, and he made his presence felt on the blue line.

"We are proud and happy for Zach on making his college commitment," said Rangers Premier head coach Rich DeCaprio. "He's always striving to improve everyday and he was a big part of the success of our team this season".

Ciampa has worked his way up the Rangers pipeline, playing for the 18U team last season. The '97 from Revere, MA is eager and excited for his collegiate future, and he knows a big reason for this step is because of his time with the Rangers.

"Playing for the Rangers has provided me with the opportunities to develop and grow as a player and helped me achieve my goal of playing college hockey," said Ciampa.

Ciampa will be joined by his teammate Johnny Andrews, who also committed to SNHU for next season.
