Jr. Flyers Forward Set to Join Lancers in the Fall of 2017

WEST CHESTER, PA -- Matthew Manning, a forward for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, has committed to Worcester State University for the Fall of 2017. Manning and the Jr. Flyers are currently tied 1-1 with the Philadelphia Little Flyers in the Premier Division Finals.

In his first season in Philadelphia, the '96 from Michigan has tallied 48 points in 52 total games, including four game-winners in the playoffs. The move from the Shreveport Mudbugs (NAHL) to the Jr. Flyers has proven to been huge for Manning.

"Everything has been great for me since I got here," said Manning. "The coaching staff has been great to me and really helpful. I learned a lot this year, and this league has helped me prepare for college. The EHL gets you ready for the fast pace that the college level will have. Our practices are up tempo along, the same as our games, and it has helped me a lot. It was a really good step for me to be here before heading off to Worcester. I want to thank my parents, for always being there for me and for supporting me. The coaching staff has always been supportive of me and have helped me with talking to schools. I also want to thank my teammates. I talked to them about my decision for schools and they were always willing to help me. They gave me positive feedback, and wished me the best. I can’t thank them enough for being there for me."

Manning and the Jr. Flyers return to action Friday night at 6:00pm, for Game 3 of the EHL Finals against the Little Flyers.
