Wizards Forward Set to Join Purple Knights in the Fall of 2017

BEDFORD, MA -- Cameron Stewart, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to the Saint Michael's College for the Fall of 2017. This was Stewart's 1st season with the Wizards, and the '97 forward made great strides throughout the year while tallying 40 points in 54 total games.

"[Stewart] got so much better as the year went on," said Wizards head coach Freddy Meyer. "You could just see his confidence growing each and every game, and every point he tallied this year is credit to the hard work that he put in. I can't wait to follow him as he begins his collegiate hockey career this Fall."

Meyer mentioned Stewart's confidence because 50% of his points came in the final couple months of the regular season. Many players see their scoring increase as the year goes on, but this was very apparent with the native of Sabattus, Maine.

"I have never had a coach believe in me throughout my hockey career, but the coaching staff at the Wizards gave me the chances I needed to succeed and I took full advantage of my opportunity and was lucky enough to commit to St. Michael's," said Stewart.
