Gunning Commits to UMass Dartmouth

Nighthawks Defenseman Set to Join Corsairs in the Fall of 2017

SIMSBURY, CT -- Daniel Gunning, a defenseman for the Connecticut Nighthawks, has committed to UMass Dartmouth for the Fall of 2017. In his 1st season with the Nighthawks, the '96 from New Jersey tallied 17 points in 47 total games.

"Daniel was a very important player for our team this season. He has a very high hockey IQ and was the leader of our denfensive group," said Nighthawks head coach Jeff Tory.

While the Nighthawks season ended sooner than they had hoped, Gunning is excited for his future at UMD.

"I am excited to announce my commitment to play college hockey at UMass Dartmouth. Thanks to my family, teammates and all the coaches who have supported me along the way,” said Gunning.
