Oilers Forward Set to Join Panthers in the Fall of 2017

NORWALK, CT -- Brett Backman, a forward for the Connecticut Oilers, has committed to Plymouth State for the Fall of 2017. Backman is in his first season with the Oilers, and through the first 37 games with the team, he's racked up 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists).

“He carries his father’s pro-stock character on and off the ice, and is the total team player,” said Oilers head coach Eric Lind.

Backman and the Oilers have a big weekend ahead of them, as they try and build off of this past Sunday's 5-4 overtime victory against the Philadelphia Revolution. Backman had a pair of goals and an assist last Sunday, and he'll look to continue to lead the way offensively when the Oilers host the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
