Wolfpack Forward Set to Join New Program in the Fall of 2017

CROMWELL, CT -- Nick Malvasi, a forward for the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, has committed to Bryn Athyn College for the Fall of 2017. In his first season with Hartford's Premier team, the '96 forward has a goal and seven assists through his first 29 games.

"This is a perfect fit for Nick on and off the ice," said Wolfpack head coach Chris Cerrella. "Bryn Athyn is a brand new NCAA Div III program and they are looking to build their roster with speed and work ethic, and Nick brings both of those to the table every day.  He is in great shape, he is a great teammate, and I think he is going to really succeed next season for the Lions. Andrew Burke was a very good player at the Junior and Collegiate levels and I think he is going to build a program that will compete every night.  I am very happy for Nick and his family and I am looking forward to watching him at the next level."

Bryn Athyn College is located approximately 20 miles from Philadelphia, and as Cerrella mentioned, are led by their head coach Andrew Burke. Burke is a graduate of UMass-Boston and he also played for the Philadelphia Little Flyers back in his junior days. Malvasi is excited about joining Burke's team, and what the future has in store for him.

"I want to first off thank my family for giving me this opportunity to do what I love every day, I could not have accomplished this without them. I want to thank Coach Cerrella and the Wolfpack staff for helping me achieve my dream of playing college hockey.  I'm looking forward to continuing my hockey and academic career next fall at Bryn Athyn College," said Malvasi.

Malvasi and the Wolfpack have a big weekend ahead of them as they face-off with the New York Applecore this afternoon at 4:40pm, and tomorrow afternoon at 12:10pm.
