Express Goaltender Set to Join Thoroughbreds in the Fall of 2017

WALPOLE, MA -- Brian Kowalski, a goaltender for the Walpole Express, has committed to Skidmore College for the Fall of 2017. Kowalski is in his first season with the Express, and through 18 starts, he owns a record of 10-6-2 to go along with a 1.91 GAA and 1 shutout.

“Brian came to us this year from the Buffalo Jr. Sabers (OJHL) and has been able to put up monster numbers in his first season with the Express," said Walpole Express head coach Jon Lounsbury. "Brian came to us highly regarded and he has worked incredibly hard each day to prove he can be a go to guy in any situation."

Last season in the OJHL, Kowalski owned a GAA of 3.50 in 21 games played. The '97 netminder has improved on that number, and is very excited about his future collegiate career.

“I am very excited to further my education and hockey career at Skidmore College,” said Kowalski. “I would like to thank my parents for all of the time they have put towards my success; all the many tournaments and road trips, they taught me the ups and downs required to reach my goals. I'd like to thank Coach Lounsbury for giving me the incredible opportunity to play for him and the Walpole Express."

Kowalski and the Express have a full weekend of road games ahead of them, as the face-off with the East Coast Wizards tomorrow and then the Valley Jr. Warriors on Saturday and Sunday.
