Nighthawks Goalie Set to Join Knights in the Fall of 2017

SIMSBURY, CT -- Dylan Schoen, a goaltender for the Connecticut Nighthawks, has committed to SUNY Geneseo for the Fall of 2017. Schoen is in his 2nd season with the Nighthawks, and this past weekend, shutout the Walpole Express with a 41-save performance at the MLK Day Showcase.

"Dylan has been very solid in net for us," said Nighthawks head coach Jeff Tory. "He is a good, athletic goalie, with a strong compete level on every shot."

Over the past two seasons in the EHL, Schoen has racked up seven victories for Connecticut, with two of those wins coming by way of a shutout. The native of Baltimore, Maryland is eager and excited about his college hockey future.

"It's an honor to commit to Geneseo," said Schoen. "It's been a long process, and I am very happy to have accomplished this goal. My past two seasons with the Nighthawks have been a great experience. I have made friends and memories that I will have for the rest of my life."

This is the 2nd straight season the Nighthawks have advanced a goalie to the collegiate ranks, as Jordan Bustard became the first NCAA Commitment in team history last Fall.
