Jr. Flyers Goalie Set to Join Cardinals in the Fall of 2016

WEST CHESTER, PA -- George Blinick, a goalie for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, has committed to Wesleyan University for the Fall of 2016. Blinick was the anchor in net for the Jr. Flyers this season, owning a record of 15-11-1 to go along with a 2.74 GAA and 4 shutouts. Blinick's best stretch came at the end of October and into the beginning of November. The New Jersey native started the year with six straight wins and earned Star of the Week honors following a weekend sweep of the Connecticut Nighthawks.

“George is a real competitor on the ice," said Jr. Flyers head coach Jerry Domish. "It doesn’t matter if it's practice or a game, he is always looking to make every save. He can be very tough on himself at practice when somebody scores as his competitive nature is always going. He will bring them [Wesleyan] a great 2nd man in net that will push the starter every day. He will make the starter better or take his job. George is a great team player and all the boys love to play for him. He is a true leader and has a way to get the team ready before and during every game. He was our most emotional leader.”
