WALPOLE, MA -- James Varney, the captain of the Walpole Express, has committed to Stonehill College for the Fall of 2016. Varney tallied 18 points in 46 total games for the Express this season, while helping to lead his team to the Premier Semi-Finals.

"I can't begin to explain how proud I am of James and his decision to attend Stonehill," said Express head coach Jon Lounsbury. "James has had a bumpy path as he had major hip surgeries in each of his last two seasons. Most young men would have given up if faced with the same adversity, but James persevered. Now healthy, this year he has stepped up as a leader and as a player. That’s a testament to his character. He has always possessed a strong desire to succeed and I have no doubt he will make a difference at Stonehill over the next four years."
