Jr. Flyers Defensman Joins List of Future Mustangs

Evan Williams, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, has committed to Stevenson University for the Fall of 2016. Williams is one of six EHL players to commit to the Mustangs so far this season.

Here are the other commits:

This Fall, the Stevenson University Mustangs hockey program will embark on their inaugural season as the newest member of the NCAA Division III – ECAC West Conference. Led by a group of future alums, the EHL is excited to see how this set of players transitions to the college level.

Williams is equally as excited.

“Since it’s a new program I look forward to growing with the team," said Williams. "I want to go there in hopes of building something special with a team that is just starting out."

Jerry Domish is the head coach of the Jr. Flyers, went on to talk about how Williams improved during his time in Philadelphia.

“I’m really happy for Evan. When he came from Millbrook before he got here, he was a pretty decent defenseman, but needed to be refined. He’s made the adjustments and is a much better skater now and he makes good decisions on the ice. He also has some decent offensive skills that he didn’t have in the beginning. I think it’s a good opportunity for the team and for him. It’s brand new, and he has the chance to put his mark on the program from day one, and he’ll have the opportunity to play every day.”
