Rockets Defenseman is First College Commit of 2015-16 Season

Alec Mono, a defenseman for the New Jersey Rockets, has committed to Curry College for the Fall of 2016. Mono has played in all 28 games for the Rockets so far this season, scoring 3 goals and adding 11 assists, good for 14 total points on the year. The Las Vegas native has picked the right times to find the back of the net, as 2 of his 3 goals have been game-winners. Mono is the first commitment from the Rockets this season.

“I chose Curry because of the rich hockey culture it has,” Mono said. “The school itself attracted me because it was on the smaller side and when I was there, all of the students were really friendly and the spirit around campus for the sports teams was off the charts.”

New Jersey Rockets head coach Sean Cromarty echoed his support of the '96 defenseman.

“Alec has done a great job developing this year both on and off the ice to ready himself for college hockey in the fall,” Cromarty added. “I’m proud of his progress and look forward to watching him continue to lead our EHL program down the final stretch.”
